abstract = "The investigation of heat and mass transfer adjacent to vertical plate subjected to partial heating of plate in multiple segments is carried out. A section of the plate is heated with isothermal temperature Th and the far away condition is maintained at ambient temperature T∞. The vertical plate is maintained at constant concentration Ch as opposed to lowest concentration at far away condition. Finite element method is used and governing equations are converted into simple form of equations using Galerkin approach. The results are discussed in terms of contour plots. Study is carried out with respect to various physical parameters. The heat and mass transfer rate found to increase with increase in Rayleigh number.",
