ملخص
This paper describes the comparative study of the effect of ordinary portland cement (OPC) and cement by-pass dust (CBPD) on the engineering properties of sand. The properties of the stabilized sand such as compaction characteristics, unconfined compressive strength, shear strength parameters, durability and permeability were evaluated and their variations with the content of OPC/CBPD and curing period are compared and discussed. The results of the study reveal that sand with OPC can be a good material for base or subbase course application where as the sand with CBPD can be used for improving the bearing capacity of sand to support low to moderate rise building.
