ملخص

A direct interpretation is developed by means of horizontal and vertical derivatives of self-potential anomalies due to point poles and spheres. The vertical derivative is obtained via the Hilbert transform. The depth to the centre of the sphere, the angle of polarization and the multiplicative factor comprising the resistivity of the surrounding medium and current density are evaluated directly by simple mathematical expressions based on the abscissae of the points of intersection of these derivatives. The procedure is illustrated with a theoretical example in each case. -from Authors
