ملخص

Seven virus isolate were obtained in Vero cell culture from skin samples collected during outbreaks of camelpox that occurred between 1992 and 1994 in Eastern Sudan. The isolated viruses were identified as camelpox virus using virus neutralisation, agar gel diffusion and immunofluorescent tests. The histopathological picture of the skin lesion provided further evidence for pox virus infection.
