N2 - In this paper, an adaptive fuzzy tracking control is proposed for a power system in the presence of communication delay associated with the excitation signal. The proposed controller is designed using the universal approximation property of fuzzy logic systems. In the controller design process, an integral of the control effort over the delay interval is introduced in order to express the open-loop of the filtered tracking error dynamics in terms of delay-independent control signal. The closed-loop signals are proved, using Lyapunov stability analysis, to be bounded. The simulation results of a Single Machine-Infinite Bus (SMIB) system show the effectiveness of the proposed controller in achieving prescribed tracking in the presence of severe abnormalities to the system.
