Energy transfer between inorganic quantum dots and conjugated polymers

المشروع: Other project

تفاصيل المشروع

Description

Optical characterization of organic-inorganic nanocomposites consisting of conjugated polymers andsemiconductor quantum dots is a prime area of research with the intent of incorporating the advantages of both materials towards the development of hybrid solar cells and light emitting devices. However, heavy-metal based quantum dots need to be replaced with non-toxic materials as a part of the green energy policy. Through this proposal we aim to investigate the possibility of using heavymetal free quantum dots such as InP together with conjugated polymers such as P3HT or MEH-PPV particularly for fluorescence based applications. Various optical measurements like UV-Visabsorption, emission, fluorescence lifetime etc. will be performed with a focus to investigate theexcitation energy transfer process between organic and inorganic materials in the hybrid.
